Weekly Playbook

The routine for orderbook demand and Thursday deliveries — follow it top to bottom each week

Weekly routine8

  1. 1
    Refresh the data Monday morning
    • Upload the latest Orderbook, Open Jobs, Stock and Subcon POs (BOM only when it changes).
    • Read the message under each upload — fix any “Not found in file” column before carrying on.
    • Check “Data as of” at the bottom of the menu shows today.
    Open Data Imports →
  2. 2
    Review upcoming customer deliveries Monday
    • Set the next delivery date to Thursday and review late and current orders.
    • Check the parts, quantities and agreed dates; note the jobs or subcon batches needing action.
    Open Orderbook →
  3. 3
Clear the Rumbling buffer in the right order Daily
    • Give the shop floor the queue top to bottom: Thursday commitments first, then customer due dates and days waiting.
    • Use “Next for Aalberts” to build the batch going out for anodise.
    Open Rumbling Queue →
  4. 4
Chase Aalberts and request splits Monday / Tuesday
    • Batches flagged “Request split” are needed before the full batch would be back.
    • Export the split request list and send it to Aalberts; set those batches to “Pending response”.
    • When Aalberts replies, record Yes/No, the split quantity and the promised return date. Only “Yes” moves quantity to an earlier Thursday — until then the plan runs as is.
    • Check long-running lines (days out) on the Subcon Tracker.
    Open Aalberts Batches →
  5. 5
    Check kits for assemblies Tuesday
    • Use the Kit Readiness column: “100% kitted” can go to assembly now; “Kit X/Y” or “Held” are waiting on piece-parts.
    • Open a job to see exactly which piece-parts are short, then chase those jobs or subcon batches.
    • Remember stock is checked, not reserved — decide which assembly gets shared piece-parts first.
    Open Jobs / WIP →
  6. 6
    Commit this Thursday’s delivery Wednesday
    • Click the Thursday in the top strip to see what is projected for it.
    • For each line you are confident of, set the Committed Thursday (or “use projected”).
    • Check “Where it is / holding it up” and kit readiness before committing.
    Open Delivery Planner →
  7. 7
Tell the customer what is coming Wednesday
    • Export the customer schedule and send it so they can plan production.
    • Cross-check late and current lines on the Orderbook with the next delivery date set to this Thursday.
    Open Delivery Planner →
  8. 8
After Thursday’s delivery Thursday / Friday
    • Re-upload Orderbook and Stock so shipped lines drop off.
    • Review the delivery plan and move anything missed to next Thursday’s commitments.
    Open Delivery Planner →

Rules to remember

  • Deliveries go on Thursdays. Every projected date is a Thursday.
  • Aalberts splits count only once confirmed (“Yes”). Pending still runs as is.
  • With no promised return date, the plan assumes the subcon and despatch days set on the Delivery Planner.
  • Parts still in production have no projected date yet. Commit them by judgement.
  • Data lives in this browser only, so colleagues need their own uploads.
